Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Work within a team of ~10 other Design Engineers; Managing 3-6 Submittal Engineers
- Manage Submittal & Resubmittal DE Schedule
- Manage Outsourced Submittals
- Attend Daily Huddle
- Administer Engineering Reviews on Shop Drawings
- Interpret architectural drawings
- Attention to detail is required
- Assist Director as needed
- Administer Training of Submittal Engineering Team
Education
- Two-year degree, or higher, from a technical school or university is required
- Relevant experience can be considered as an equivalent to a degree
Experience
- Five or more years’ experience within the woodworking, manufacturing, or construction industry is required
- AutoCAD experience is required
- CabinetVision and Microvellum experience is required

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and team members regarding project related items.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; mentally, hand-and-paper, and calculator.
- Strong knowledge and application of geometry.
- Ability to think in 3D regarding millwork, trim and details.
- Familiarity with basic orthographic drawing styles and applications, including but not limited to plans, elevations, vertical cut sections, horizontal cut sections and enlarged details.
- Analytical skills for calculating material usage based on technical shop drawings
- Ability to be a leader in the team by setting an example to others and help with training efforts
