What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Dental Technician position at Remote Area Medical?
The Digital Dental Technician reports directly to the Dental Technology Manager and is part of the Operations Team.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain healthy strategic relationships with direct supervisor, personnel, volunteers, and partners that would benefit the department and organizational objectives
- Manage mobile Digital Dental Lab during clinic events
- Provide oversight of mobile dental lab functions and manage volunteers assigned to the area
- Maintain equipment and appearance of the mobile denture lab
- Download digital scans
- Perform data entry functions for digital files
- Upload completed files for fabrication
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality standards are met
- Operate CAD/CAM software equipment such as Milling machines and 3D Printers
- Adapt to new dental technology as it becomes available
- Provide reports of the mobile denture lab’s operations and usage
- Perform general lab equipment maintenance
- Oversee preparation of lab supply orders
- Maintain a cost-effective budget reflective of current and future needs
- Assist volunteer dentists in various tasks and duties as requested related to dental fabrication
- Research and make suggestions on new dental technologies for improvement of the lab operations
- Perform various tasks and duties as directed by Management Team
- Provide oversight of Cost of Care and Value of Care Reports
Job Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma/GED.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferably EXOCAD, and knowledge of dental anatomy
- Certified dental technician (CDT) preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in digital dental preferred
- Weekend and multiple overnight travel
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive RAM vehicles
- Must be proficient in verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
