What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Specialist position at Remsen St. Mary's Schools?
The RSM Technology Specialist is responsible for a wide range of IT infrastructure, including server management, Google Admin tasks, Chromebook and iPad management, software licenses, teacher laptop rotations, inventory management, copier/printer troubleshooting, E-Rate compliance, WIFI management, and social media/webpage administration. Additionally, there are miscellaneous responsibilities maintaining relationships with technology service providers.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and administration of server infrastructure, including the setup of user accounts, permissions, and regular backups.
- Collaborate with Access Systems Inc. to research and implement updates for servers and networks.
Google Admin:
- Efficiently manage email accounts for staff and students, including group assignments and archival of outdated communications.
- Organize transitions of grades and parent groups, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Update parent groups with current email addresses.
Chromebook and iPad Management:
- Conduct comprehensive research, quoting, ordering, and setup of chromebooks and iPads.
- Utilize management software for iPads, including app loading, licensing, and group assignments.
- Coordinate assignments of Chromebooks to specific groups and locations.
Software License Management:
- Oversee licenses for various software, including but not limited to MS Office, server, Open Value Level, Go Daddy, Smartboard, and Chromebook management.
Teacher Laptops:
- Implement a structured three-year toration for teacher laptops, handling and procurement, setup, network connectivity, security software installations, and user support.
- Distribute new laptops to teachers and manage the proper cleanup and setup of retired laptops for the GS lab and other places as needed.
Inventory and Device Management:
- Systematically manage the inventory of all technology devices.
- Provide troubleshooting support for copiers and printers.
- Configure scanners with accurate email addresses.
E-Rate Compliance:
- Complete and file essential E-Rate forms, including 470,471, BEAR, and 486.
WiFiManagement:
- Maintain, manage, and troubleshoot WiFi and access points to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
Social Media and Webpage Administration:
- Administer updates and changes to the school’s webpage,Facebook, and other social media accounts.
Miscellaneous:
- Coordinate the responsible disposal and recycling of outdated technology equipment.
- Provide assistance with ISAP testing, including setup of Chromebooks.
- Promptly address and troubleshoot technology related issues.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with technology service providers, including but not limited to WesTel Systems, Access Systems Inc., TriView Systems, Bluum Inc., Apple Inc, and Elevate K-12.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.21 - $21.93 per hour
