What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities and Maintenance Technician position at REMTEC INC?
Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to support the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and contribute to the uninterrupted operation of all process and non-process equipment and utilities
- Schedule, execute and document all preventive maintenance for said utilities/equipment
- Level and calibrate mechanical printers
- Execute all preventive maintenance, including scheduling with internal stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and components
- BMS & CMS monitoring and alarm response
- Ensure efficient communication with team members
- Coordinate daily documentation logs, alarm reports, work orders, and cleaning logs
- Evaluate SOP’s and Emergency Procedures
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate small projects
- Perform other assignments as directed by manager or lead technician
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree: Electrical, Mechanical (Chemical or Material Science) or Electro-Mechanical engineering or equivalent technical or trade school required
- 1 to 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Able to lift/carry at least 50 lbs or more
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Possess an understanding of HVAC systems & controls, plumbing, electrical, process piping and have proficiency in at least one trade
- Have analytical problem-solving skills to be able to identify the root cause of difficult technical and non-technical problems, be capable of analyzing alternate approaches and developing practical solutions to solve complex technical and non-technical problems
- 6S program support
- Machine shop knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic leveling and calibrating xy table is preferred
- General knowledge of electrical and plumbing is helpful
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with people is essential
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Must display a customer-oriented attitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
