Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and ensuring the highest level of patient care and comfort. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and medical terminology. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnostic process by collecting blood samples for analysis.

Duties

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients.
  • Ensure patient identification and proper labeling of specimens to maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during blood collection.
  • Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
  • Record patient information accurately in the laboratory information system.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow within the clinical laboratory.
  • Stay updated on hospital policies, laboratory procedures, and best practices in phlebotomy.

Skills

  • Proficient in clinical laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Strong patient service skills with an emphasis on empathy and communication.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy relevant to blood collection sites.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory work.
  • Experience in blood sampling techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collection.
  • Understanding of patient care protocols within a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Ability to follow strict aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate specimen handling and documentation.
