ASSISTANT CONTROLLER, Edison, New Jersey
$125K- $140K DOE

The Assistant Controller will be an integral part of this well-established and continuously growing global manufacturing and distribution organization and will provide continuous support to the Controller. This role will effectively manage accounting staff and all corporate financial activities including financial statements, managing accounting records and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and corporate standards and regulations. This position will act as a strategic business partner to their Executive team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train and mentor team of six (6) and provide accurate oversight of all accounting functions
- Oversight and management of reconciliations, month end close and accruals processes
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for HQ compliant with US GAAP & IFRS
- Identify, research and implement more effective and efficient internal controls and processes
- Responsible for expense allocation close; review expenses utilizing related allocation methodologies
- Manage inventory process utilizing cost accounting methods
- Perform cash flow analysis, and cycle counts accounting
- Review, analyze and resolve all consolidation issues that arise
- Analyze business processes and recommend cost reduction initiatives
- Maintain accurate financial records of inventory, assets, and other financial data
- Optimize workflow processes within the ERP system and workflow processes
- Assist external CPAs with annual audits and tax filings
- Other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus
- Prior Executive Finance experience within manufacturing and/or distribution industries
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience with full cycle general accounting
- Prior experience with management of international operations to include Canada and Europe
- Possess professional, upbeat personality with stellar written and verbal communication skills
- Work effectively in fast paced setting with frequent multi-shifting priorities
- Stellar leadership skills with an “open door/hands on” management style
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with deadline and accuracy focus
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and business data to drive strategy
- Acclimates quickly to new settings with outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong MS Excel and Accounting ERP system skills with proficiency in MS Dyn GP highly preferred
Salary : $125,000 - $140,000
