Quality Engineer - Onsite San Antonio Texas - automotive industry experience required!

Global leader car manufacturing company is looking for a Quality Engineer to provide parts responsibility for mass production, supplier enhancement activity lead as well as support Field improvement activity and production support.

Title : Quality Engineer – Onsite San Antonio Texas – automotive industry experience required!

Type of hire : Temp to hire (after one year contract)

Payrate : $36 - $38 per hour. opportunity for Overtime.

Duties include :

• Track Mass production parts.
• Follow up on Day-to-day Production.
• Keep track of parts receiving and sort status.
• Communicates with suppliers and designers, including monthly supplier status report.
• Improve Field Quality through focus groups and PPC activity.
• Manage projects (SQA / PSI / Dynamic Audit issue and SQA QE items follow-up).
• Support parts and supplier development for new model development initiatives.
• Define complete vehicle quality standards, testing standards and maintain standards.
• Support production and suppliers to solve routine and technical problems.
• Resolve field issues and developing countermeasures.
• Follow area strategy relative to quality functions and then assists the team in translating those strategies into actions.
• Place overall vehicle quality as a key focus.
• Ensure that suppliers, vehicle in-process, and vehicle shipping quality meet Company’s standards.
• Handle Technical, Non-Technical Production, and or Team Member related issues is an essential part of this position.
• Identify and analyze manufacturing process related problems. Analysis must be comprehensive and detailed. Make decisions / recommendations and take prompt action.
• Develop and implement efficient team member focused process control systems. Must ensure continuous improvement of those systems.
• Establish and maintain a strong community network with other teams and suppliers.
