The Controller is a senior financial leader responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role collaborates with Sales, Operations, Distribution, and the Executive Team to optimize financial performance and decision-making. The Controller will manage financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance while leading the accounting and IT teams.
Responsibilities :
Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships, including oversight of credit lines and vendor payments
Ensure compliance with financial policies, bank covenants, and regulatory reporting requirements
Oversee financial reporting and ensure timely submission of reviewed financial statements.
Partner with HR on audits and worker's compensation filings.
Lead and support accounting and IT staff while providing financial insights to leadership.
Manage vendor accounts, oversee royalty agreements, and ensure accurate and timely payments.
Track labor costs, submit worker's compensation premiums, and process sales commissions.
Prepare financial reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
Lead the budgeting process and monitor financial performance, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Oversee fiscal year-end close, coordinate with external auditors, and manage financial documentation for shareholder and board meetings.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or equivalent role.
Strong understanding of financial operations, preferably in an agricultural or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with financial systems and ERP software such as Odoo.
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
