We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our growing civil construction company. As the Controller, you will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving financial strategy. Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts in accordance with company policies and accounting principles.
- Manage and coordinate all accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and project cost accounting.
- Support project managers with financial analysis, including budgeting, cost tracking, job costing, and forecasting for construction projects.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the timely completion of financial statements and reports.
- Maintain and manage the company's accounting systems and financial records.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and tax requirements.
- Prepare and manage tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax compliance.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Develop and analyze financial performance reports to help guide business decision-making and optimize project outcomes.
- Collaborate with senior management to support strategic planning, financial forecasting, and business development initiatives.
