Summary :
The primary responsibility of the IBM (z / OS) Support Engineer is to provide Level I technical support for the IBM suite of products supporting our customers and partners.
General Responsibilities :
Primary contact for customers, LVL I support technicians and implementation techs in resolving pre and post sales product installation, implementation, and product usage.
Acting liaison between the customer and the LVL 2 partner organizations.
Maintain up-to-date call ticket information for customers in the call-ticket DB.
Perform pre-sales technical support as requested by the Sales organization.
Follow-up on customer requests and needs, coordinating with other operating departments.
Participate in programs directed at customer retention and maintenance contract renewals.
Perform special projects as assigned and report progress.
Participate in on-call support.
Technical Job Knowledge :
Demonstrated knowledge of IBM z / OS output management products.
Working knowledge of z / OS and sub-systems
Working experience with web server specific to z / OS connectivity
Knowledge of z / OS output management and report products
Knowledge of JES2 (JES3 also desirable)
Strong experience working within ISPF
Strong knowledge of z / OS Job Control Language (JCL)
