Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Import Specialist to join our team and manage the importation process of goods from overseas suppliers. The Import Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, handling logistics, and managing documentation related to international shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and effective communication skills to coordinate with vendors, customs brokers, and other departments.
Key Responsibilities :
Import Documentation and Compliance :
Prepare and review import documentation such as purchase orders, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure all imports comply with government regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
- Work with customs brokers to resolve any customs issues and facilitate smooth processing of shipments.
Logistics Management :
Coordinate with international vendors, freight forwarders, and shipping companies to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveriesMonitor the movement of goods and address any delays or issues in transit.
Customs and Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure proper classification of goods for customs purposes, and assist in tariff and duty classification.
Inventory and Supply Chain Support :
Collaborate with the logistics and inventory teams to ensure goods are received, stored, and distributed correctly.
Communication & Customer Service :
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal departments, customers, and vendors regarding import matters.
