Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team for a 4-month maternity leave coverage. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing a diverse caseload. Bi-lingual proficiency is a strong plus, as the role requires frequent interaction with clients from varied backgrounds.
Responsibilities of the Personal Injury Paralegal
- Assist attorneys in all phases of personal injury case management, from intake to settlement.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery responses, and motions.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, medical examinations, and court appearances.
- Obtain and review medical records, bills, and other pertinent case documentation.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries as needed.
- Communicate with clients, insurance companies, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
- Manage case files, ensuring all documentation is up to date and organized.
- Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court requirements and procedural rules.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on personal injury law.
- Education: Paralegal certificate or degree in legal studies preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion and professionalism.
- Languages: Bi-lingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) is a strong advantage.
