Position Overview
As Lead Infant Teacher, you will lead a classroom of compassionate Early Childhood Educators to care for infants (6 weeks to 12 months). You will create a safe, loving, and developmentally rich environment. You’ll work collaboratively with assistant teachers and leadership to guide curriculum, support milestones, and build strong partnerships with families.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, responsive care that supports infants’ physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development
- Show compassion, safety and effective team communication skills for all coworkers and parents.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards
- Create a warm, nurturing environment that promotes secure attachment
- Oversee the daily care, diapering, feeding, documenting and all safety procedures.
- Oversee and organize routine tasks such as: meal times, diapering, cleaning, group time and play time.
- Oversee with daily observations and entering information into our online reporting app.
- Communicate regularly with families, offering updates, insights, and support
- Communicate with team members and supervisors in a positive and productive manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the classroom and all areas children are present.
- Ensure your classroom maintains accurate and up-to-date reports for State Licensing.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and participate in ongoing professional development
- Ability to lift 15-40 pounds continuously throughout a work day.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent, as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
- At least 2 years of experience in an infant classroom
- Strong knowledge of infant development, responsive care giving, and safe sleep practices
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain upon hire)
- State of WI required classes or equivalent (or willing to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and spend time on the floor with infants
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Nice To Haves
Preferred
- Registry Level 9 or higher (preferred)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or closely related field) - Preferred
- 5 years of experience as a Lead Infant Teacher
