As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled, self-motivated Commercial Lender to join our team and contribute to our mission of fostering economic development in Mississippi and Alabama's communities.

Position Overview

The Commercial Lender will play a key role in supporting Renaissance’s efforts to provide lending products and services to local businesses and organizations. This individual will be responsible for commercial loan production, working as part of a collaborative team on lending, risk management, reporting, and relationship management. A successful candidate will have a strong background in banking, lending, and community development and will be comfortable working with a diverse clientele and partners to structure complex financing solutions for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development: Identify, develop, and maintain a strong network of business relationships, including partner lenders, SBDCs, municipalities, and professional contacts, to generate new lending opportunities.
• Loan Underwriting: Underwrite and assess new account relationships, ensuring thorough credit analysis and sound financial structuring for borrowers.
• Client Support: Provide coaching and technical support for existing borrowers and potential clients, particularly entrepreneurs and small businesses.
• Community Outreach: Act as the company’s representative at community and industry events across the states. This includes presenting Renaissance’s loan products and services to groups and networking to expand the organization’s reach.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the lending team to meet production goals and maintain a high standard of reporting and risk management.
• Administrative Tasks: Ensure all job functions comply with company policies and procedures. Complete all required training and attend relevant meetings.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial loan underwriting and production, including sales and marketing of loan products.
• Experience in business management or consulting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, credit analysis, and loan underwriting processes.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships while acting in a coaching capacity with clients and prospects.
• Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to both small and large groups.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), with the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• Reliable access to a vehicle for local travel, including meetings, networking events, and client visits.
