What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Renaissance General Restoration Contracting, Inc.?
POSITION SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS:
We are a 26 year-old, industry-leading, privately held construction company looking to add an experienced senior level Accounting Manager to our team who will work with our CPA and internal accounting team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and Facilitate Payroll - For 2 companies consisting of approximately 75 total employees
- Assist with city, county, state and federal tax filings and payment - Payroll taxes, state/fed/county tax, sales and use tax, personal property, license renewals, etc.
- Assist with bank deposit processing, and entry, etc.
- A/P and A/R.
- GL entries, maintenance and adjustments
- Worker’s Comp reports and payments
- Assist with new employee setup and onboarding (W4, benefits, withholdings, garnishments, etc.)
- End of year employee, sub-contractor and vendor documents including W2’s, 1099. 1095, 940.
- Assist with processing subcontractor and vendor onboarding packages (Workers Comp and liability insurance confirmation, set up in QuickBooks, etc.)
- Assist with annual employee benefits enrollment
- Process child support orders
- Set up electronic payments as needed
- Assist with year-end, monthly, quarterly close
- Resolve accounting issues quickly and efficiently
- Issue day-to-day checks and enter in G/L
- Assist with bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliation
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Expert in the use of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, including but not limited to, payroll, GL, A/R, A/P, Customer Center, Employee Center, Vendor Center, QB Classes, reporting, audit, etc.
- Strong experience in construction and construction job-cost accounting.
- Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, etc.
- Senior level experience with General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close
- Understands and complies with GAAP, established accounting standards, defined procedures, and applicable laws
- Excellent organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess verifiable skill and proficiency at managing teams and accomplishing the tasks listed above at a senior level.
- At least 3 years of documented payroll and accounting experience required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or a CPA a plus.
- Must have a strong ethical standard and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be legally eligible to work in California.
Job Type: Full Time.
Wage: Hourly - $30.00 - $36.00 per hour commensurate with experience
