The Montgomery Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) is seeking a new Technical Director to join the team leading a state-of-the-art 1,800 seat facility playing host to some of the world’s greatest touring musicians, dancers, and comedians. This role coordinates and maintains the efficient operation of MPAC's technical assets, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.

This role requires exceptional professionalism and outstanding communication skills while effectively addressing various situations. Creativity and strong problem-solving abilities and high technical expertise, along with a commitment to guest satisfaction are key to this position. Due to the nature of the event calendar, flexibility in scheduling is required. Customer service and teamwork skills to manage and train associates in technical and theoretical applications is critical.

  • Operation and maintenance of theatre assets, including lighting, audio, video, and stage equipment.
  • Oversee technical needs for events and assist guests and performers with equipment.
  • Guide production managers on in-house equipment usage and design implementation.
  • Supervise event setups and teardowns.
  • Prepare and oversee production budgets.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
