Description : Responsibilities
I. FOOD PRODUCTION - Responsible for all aspects of food production (excluding salad / dessert production)
a. Prepare foods using appropriate methods that will conserve nutritive value and enhance flavor and appearance
b. Prepare foods according to standardized recipes and production guides; offer input to Dining Services Director on menu
items / cooking methods
c. Plan and prepare food for the next day’s menu
II. MEAL PRODUCTION - Contribute to overall efficiency of meal production
a. Make sure that all necessary food preparation is completed for the following day’s meals
b. Serve attractively plated food at the proper temperatures
c. Make sure all necessary food preparation is completed within appropriate time frames
III. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Assist with meal service and kitchen work on as needed basis
a. Act as Company representative by occasionally visiting residents during dining hours to ascertain customer satisfaction;
receive and transmit input to Dining Services Director
b. Assist supervisor during operations, as needed
c. Assist staff during operations as needed
Requirements :
- ServSafe course and City of Chicago certificate. If not currently certified, we will assist you in becoming certified and paying for the certification
- Practice safe and hygienic food-handling procedures at all times
- Maintain sanitation procedures / protocols at all times
- Follow proper storage guidelines
- Maintain safe and adequate food temperatures
- Clean cooking area and equipment after each use
- Follow all aspects of proper sanitation
- Practice good personal grooming
