The Dining Services Representative must:

• Practice safe and hygienic food-handling procedures at all times.
• Maintain sanitation procedures/protocols at all times.
• Follow proper storage guidelines.
• Maintain safe and adequate food temperatures.
• Clean workstation and equipment after each use.
• Follow all aspects of proper sanitation.
• Practice good personal grooming.

Responsibilities

I. DINING ROOM SERVICE – Provide efficient, world-class service to residents:

• Ensure customer satisfaction by listening and responding to customer opinions and needs; complete menu order requests for each meal; serve cold and hot menu items to residents and gusts; assist residents and staff during operation as needed.
• Setup and turnover dining room for meal prep.
• Prepare tables for next seating.
• Restock supplies – flatware, glassware, napkins, etc.
• Make sure salt and pepper shakers are filled and condiment area is neat, orderly, and properly stocked.
• Clean dining area as needed.
• Assist supervisor during operations, as needed.
• Set up DSR work stations as specified by station assignment.

II. KITCHEN PREP

• Prepare salads, sandwiches and desserts.
• Maintain beverage, cold food, dessert, and salad supply.
• Maintain clean and orderly dining room, including table tops, legs, and chairs.
• Clean kitchen areas a directed.
• Flooring.
• Tables.
• Machines/tools/equipment.
• Work dish-clean station.
• Run dish racks through dish machine.
• Wash pots, pans and other items by hand at sink area.
• Stock and maintain cleaning products.

Experience and skills required:

• Excellent customer service, speaking and listening skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with the prospective and current residents and their families.
• Excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle several tasks and respond effectively to unexpected changes and requests.
• Able to maintain regular attendance
• Ability to effectively handle stressful situations and work well under pressure.
• Ability to handle resident complaints and issues including where customers may be angry and/or upset.

Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written direction in the English language at a level adequate to perform the job duties.

Must maintain and encourage a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation and positive, memorable experiences for co-workers, managers and others with whom contact is made.
