Provide oversight and leadership of day-to-day operation of Hospital Engagement Center; creating an accepting, welcoming environment for guests experiencing mental health crisis to stabilize, tap into coping skills, build resilience and avoid future hospitalizations. Complete intake and exit assessment of Hospital Engagement Center guests; ensure all shifts covered by a minimum of one QMHP and one CRSS.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing regular supervision to Hospital Engagement Center staff;
- Participate in, and actively oversee day-to-day operations of Hospital Engagement Center;
- Ensure environment created is safe, accepting and welcoming for individuals experiencing mental health crisis;
- Ensure intake and exit assessments are completed;
- Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner;
- Oversee activities offered by team to meet guests’ needs; help guests access coping techniques, restore senses of stability, purpose and hope;
- Support Hospital Engagement Center staff to assist guests in establishing achievable short-term goals, crisis recovery planning, and building tools;
- Model and implement evidence-based practices as applicable, including Harm Reduction, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), and Trauma Informed Care;
- Work as a member of the team; participate in shift transition, team meetings, and staff supervision;
- Collaborate with other community entities re: referring guests, law enforcement and emergency services personnel as necessary.
- Assures operation of Hospital Engagement Center Crisis Line
- Assist in outreach and promotion of the Hospital Engagement Center Program to community entities;
- Assures that all assigned documentation is completed accurately, on time, and is organized in a systemic manner.
- Participates in the hiring sequence of the agency and makes recommendations on the hiring or termination of staff.
- Assures follow-up calls, program evaluation data is gathered
- Completing required documentation and statistics in a timely manner.
- Assures that the confidentiality of guests’ information in any written, oral, or electronic form is maintained including, but not limited to, health information, HIV/AIDS status, and disability information. Releasing such information only as needed and with the proper release from the guest unless mandated by law;
- Assures reporting all incidents of abuse, and/or neglect as required by state law.
- Reports to the Director of Specialize Programs.
Additional duties not listed may be required depending upon the need of guests and at the discretion of Director of Specialize Programs. May be required to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends; may be required to be on-call to complete telehealth or face-to-face intake and exit assessment.
