What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Director position at Renaissance?
We are seeking a Director, Sales, to develop and bring new members to our network in our West Region with a focus on Arizona. The position will create and maintain a continuous pipeline of potential new member agencies to present to the Leadership team. The qualified candidate will work closely with the broader team at Renaissance, both in and outside our West Region to successfully transition prospective agents into members of the Renaissance network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Prospect potential member agencies through in-person visits, phone calls, and partnering with our marketing team to develop new leads
- Establish and build new relationships
- Create and maintain a pipeline of prospective member agencies
- Maintains all activities in company CRM or other systems
- Develop sales tools and execute prospecting plans
- Research and maintain current information on the competitive marketplace
- Maintain a high level of visibility in the defined territory, at various industry events and professionally represent Renaissance West Region
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Proven work experience with a track record of success in generating new business and rapidly building new relationships
- Familiarity with CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Coachability: the willingness to adapt to new sales approaches and desire to continuously improve
- Curiosity/Preparation: learning about the prospect agency and their strategic priorities, challenges they face, and what they are trying to achieve. The ability to understand a prospect’s context through effective questioning and listening
- Work Ethic: proactively pursuing the company mission with a high degree of energy and daily activity—including organizational discipline and skills
- Prior Success/Consistency:history of top performance or achievement and ability to follow the sales process while continuing to refine
- Passion: sense of enthusiasm and emotion that compels others to action
- Industry Experience: awareness of the insurance ecosystem how agents place business with carriers and ability to engage an agency principal about market challenges and opportunities
- Adaptability: ability to lead through change and reconsider approaches, proactively moving sales prospects toward close
- Sense of Urgency: ability to consistently meet deadlines and self-manage objectives to exceed expectations
- Brevity/Awareness: ability to “read the room” and understand how to modify call scripts when applicable; effectively influences and delivers impact through brief interventions and delivery of value proposition
