Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
- Ensure proper patient identification and labeling of specimens
- Follow established protocols for specimen collection and processing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Provide excellent patient care and ensure patient comfort during the phlebotomy process
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of laboratory procedures to accurately communicate with healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
- Certification as a phlebotomist preferred
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and clinical laboratory procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing
