Role: The role of the Golf Course Laborer is to perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and portray the VIVAMEE Values.
- Know, understand, and adhere to company established policies and procedures.
- Operating mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
- Setting tee markers and cups on greens daily; maintaining ball washers, replacing tee towels and flags when needed; removing debris; sanding and seeding of tee and drop area divots.
- Maintaining fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis and reporting equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately.
- Watering and fertilizing of tees, greens and fairways and under the supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals on landscaped areas.
- Helping in project work such as assisting in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grading and preparing soil base; laying sod; and seeding tees, greens and fairways.
- Inform supervisor of equipment malfunction.
- When directed by the golf course superintendent, perform work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders, and gang mowers.
- Must be able to lift at least a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Maintaining the grounds of the hotel and winery as well.
- Mulching, planting of new trees, shrubs, and flowers. Removal of old trees, shrubs, and flowers.
Authorities:
- Stop work if equipment is not performing as designed, i.e. continuing use of equipment will damage equipment and/or golf course.
Accountabilities:
- For effectively executing responsibilities within specified authorities.
- To the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
