Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator
Location: Miamisburg, OH
Reports To: Human Resources Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to oversee and implement safety programs at our composite material manufacturing facilities. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations, promoting a culture of workplace safety, and reducing risk through training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other Local, State and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate and lead safety training programs for employees,
- Maintain accurate records of safety and environmental data, including SDS, safety training logs, and regulatory reports.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of required documentation.
- Collaborate with management and employees to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates to ensure continuous compliance and improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred and/or 2 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or composites environment.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to actively engage in day-to-day safety operations, identify hazards, and implement practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience with hazardous materials handling and waste management.
- Excellent communication and training skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, HAZWOPER, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are a plus.
