The Wine Valley Inn in Solvang has an immediate opening for a full time Houseperson who will work Thursday/Friday 8am - 4:30pm and Saturday/Sunday 1:30pm - 10pm. This is an important role at the property. This position has a lot of guest interaction as well as interaction with the front desk. Under general supervision performs custodial duties and minor maintenance on facility equipment and facility, performs laundry duties - wash, dry and fold, runs items to guest rooms and assists guests as needed. Maintains premises and facility in a clean and orderly condition. Must be bi-lingual. Must be able to walk up and down stairs frequently and carry up to 50 pounds.
JOB FUNCTIONS
*1) Performs custodial tasks such as (not limited to) sweeping, dusting and polishing exterior woodwork, fixtures and equipment, washing windows, and walls.
*2) Operates commonly used types of power and non-power cleaning and polishing equipment.
3) Walks property picking up garbage, keeping hallways clear of debris.
4) Takes items to guest room upon request from front desk.
5) Performs minor preventive maintenance tasks as needed
6) Processes laundry - wash, dry and fold linen. Stocks linen closets and carts.
7) Other related tasks upon request.
*8) Complies with all Company and Department safety policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1) Basic reading and writing.
2) Physical ability to perform essential functions of job.
3) To be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
4) To be able to climb up and down elevated surfaces frequently.
5) To be able to push/pull up to 100 frequently.
6) Ability to follow instructions.
