Duties
- Manage patient scheduling for dental appointments, ensuring optimal use of resources and time.
- Coordinate with dental staff to confirm availability and manage any scheduling conflicts.
- Handle clerical tasks including maintaining accurate patient records and updating appointment information in the system.
- Assist with medical billing processes, including coding for insurance claims and collections.
- Utilize Open Dental software for patient management and appointment scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their appointments, follow-ups, and any necessary documentation.
- Provide support in managing insurance inquiries and processes as needed.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while addressing patient concerns or inquiries.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, particularly as a dental receptionist or similar role.
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding practices is essential; knowledge of Medicare regulations is a plus.
- Proficient typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Experience with collection processes is advantageous.
- Strong clerical skills, including organization, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of coding systems relevant to dental procedures is beneficial.
