We are seeking an experienced and strategic VP of Revenue Cycle Management to lead our revenue cycle operations in our skilled nursing facilities. This role is vital to optimizing financial performance, enhancing cash flow, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, payer contracting, and financial management within the skilled nursing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement RCM strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and operational objectives. Lead and manage all aspects of revenue cycle management to ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, and dispute resolution.
- Analyze and optimize revenue cycle processes to enhance efficiency, reduce denials, and accelerate cash flow. Collaborate with operational teams to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures related to billing and collections. Monitor industry trends and changes in billing practices to mitigate risk and enforce compliance.
- Prepare and present revenue cycle performance reports to executive leadership, highlighting key metrics, insights, and recommendations for improvement. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes related to revenue cycle operations.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing revenue cycle management team. Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to ensure staff is informed about best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical, operations, and finance, to foster a culture of collaboration and accountability around revenue cycle performance. Build and maintain relationships with payers and external partners to optimize contract negotiations.
- Leverage technology solutions and analytics to enhance the efficiency of revenue cycle processes and improve decision-making. Stay current on trends and advancements in RCM technology and tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in revenue cycle management within the healthcare industry, with specific experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful revenue cycle strategies that significantly improve financial outcomes.
- Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies, coding, billing, and regulatory requirements affecting skilled nursing facilities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various levels of the organization.
- Proficient in analyzing complex data sets to drive decision-making and improve operational performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
