What Industrial Maintenance Technicians Do
*Essential Responsibilities*
- Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and work orders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance processes
- Manage and track hand tools to ensure functionality and availability
- Purchase tools needed for current and future production
- Inspect and maintain assembly support equipment (e.g., saws, dust collectors, air compressors, jib cranes, test carts)
- Maintain and repair facility infrastructure, systems, and utilities (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, compressed air/gas, etc.)
- Coordinate maintenance work with external contractors and vendors
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems using blueprints and schematics
- Schedule and coordinate facility system testing per code requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA)
- Manage spare parts inventory and plan maintenance activities
- Use Hippo CMMS to track maintenance tasks and data
- Keep maintenance shop clean, organized, and safe
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and provide responsive support
- Identify and implement process improvements focused on efficiency and safety
- Learn and apply Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principles
- Perform other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field and 3 years of facility or plant maintenance experience (or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment, including:
- Sheet metal machines (punch press, laser cutter, panel bender, etc.)
- Paint systems
- Semi-automated and high-tech manufacturing setups
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturing instructions
- Familiar with utility systems like HVAC, boilers, compressed air/gas, fire protection, plumbing, and hydraulics
- Solid understanding of electrical systems; advanced electrical skills are a plus
- Background in manufacturing environments
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Basic computer skills
- The ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
