Position Overview: As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical advice to department managers and employees regarding the interpretation and implementation of various laws and agreements affecting employment terms and conditions. You will also be responsible for training and coaching managers on handling employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and explain salary and benefits resolutions, the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, and other laws affecting employment terms to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Oversee leave of absence processes and collaborate with the PEO and managers on ADA accommodations.
- Review disciplinary actions for approval and assist in drafting disciplinary language, proposals, and agreements.
- Coordinate the termination review process.
- Provide advice and coaching to managers and supervisors on employee relations matters, handle supervisory problems and employee complaints, and develop and conduct training sessions.
- Report vehicle accidents and injuries to third-party providers, coordinate nurse case management for work-related injuries, and work with the PEO on claims management.
Requirements:
- Three years of professional experience in human resources administration, including two years in employee relations for field positions.
- Two or more years of experience in conducting investigations and formulating facts into recommended actions, requiring strong analytical thinking and analysis skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws.
- Experience in analyzing information, projecting consequences and financial costs of proposed actions, and making and supporting recommendations.
