What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Counselor position at Renewal Health Group?
Phoenix Rising Recovery is currently hiring for a Substance Use Counselor for our Female Residential Treatment Center!
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
The Substance Use Counselor is responsible for motivating residents to engage in, and participate in all elements of the treatment process, including but not limited to, education groups, treatment planning, individual counseling, and understanding the disease process.
Primary focus will be on running groups and the ideal candidate would be very comfortable creating content on various topics.

Qualifications:
- Must be certified as a Substance Use counselor by one of the approved organizations (CCR, Section 13035(0).
- Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors are required to obtain 60 hours of continuing education hours, every two years to remain in compliance with the certifying organizations (CCR, Section 13035(t)).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge/understanding in Twelve-Step Recovery Program
- Experience in running/leading therapy group, family group, educational group, and individual counseling/case management.
Hiring Requirements:
- Hiring is contingent upon completion of a Background Check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
- For the mental health and eating disorder programs additional requirements include receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption and a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
Salary : $24 - $28
