We are looking for a dedicated Veteran Outreach Specialist who shares our passion for serving this community.
As a Veteran Outreach Specialist, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between veterans and essential community resources, particularly in the areas of Mental Health and Substance Use treatment. We prefer candidates who are veterans themselves, as personal experience within the military community can significantly enhance the effectiveness of this role.
This is a remote position and candidates must reside in one of the following locations : Alaska, Las Vegas Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, or Oregon.
Key Responsibilities :Conduct outreach to veterans and their families, identifying their unique needs and challenges.Provide accurate information about mental health and substance abuse resources available through the VA and in the community.Assist veterans in navigating the complexities of their care options and entitlements.Build and sustain collaborative relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies involved in veteran services.Plan and execute outreach events, workshops, and informational sessions to promote available resources and support.Stay current with changes in VA policies and programs to offer informed guidance to the veteran community.Maintain records of outreach activities and assess the impact of services provided to improve outreach initiatives continually.Qualifications :Must be a veteran with personal experience in the military.Strong familiarity with the VA systems and a solid understanding of community health resources related to mental health and substance abuse.Experience in community outreach, social services, or a related field is highly desirable.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to serving veterans.Ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to a team environment.Compassionate and empathetic, with a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
