Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Technical Trainer to lead small group training sessions focused on batteries, inverters, safety procedures, and repair & service processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the battery, power, or electric utility industries and a passion for equipping team members with the necessary technical skills to perform their roles effectively. This role is essential in ensuring our field service teams are well-trained, safe, and proficient in servicing and maintaining battery systems and our clients.
This position is based in our Elmhurst, IL facility and is 100% on site. Occasional travel is required.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Training Delivery: Conduct hands-on training sessions on battery systems, inverters, electrical safety, troubleshooting, and repair procedures. Deliver training in both classroom and on-site environments.
- Safety & Compliance Training: Lead OSHA and other associated safety training programs to ensure all personnel follow regulatory guidelines and best practices for high-voltage systems.
- Hands-On Demonstrations: Provide practical demonstrations in real-world and classroom settings to reinforce training, answer questions, and provide on-the-job coaching.
- Evaluation & Feedback: Alongside Service Managers, Senior Trainers, Director of Technical Training, and other leaders, assess trainee competencies and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- New Hire Training and Onboarding: Administer training on relevant company systems, processes, and policies, ensuring new hires can appropriately complete administrative tasks like reporting, timekeeping, and travel arrangement.
- 2 years in technical training, team lead, manager, or similar position that requires regular training and mentoring of teams.
- 5 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role within the battery, power, or electric utility industries.
- Strong knowledge of battery systems, inverters, electrical safety, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead engaging, hands-on training sessions in small group settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts.
- OSHA certification or similar and knowledge of industry safety regulations.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience and technical certifications will also be considered.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems or similar learning technologies preferred but not required.
- This role is based in our Elmhurst, Il office and will require occasional travel to customer sites.
