Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be providing individualized, couple, and family psychotherapy sessions, in addition to managing medication for a diverse patient demographic. This role encompasses both in-office and telemedicine services, offering a holistic approach to patient care.
Location & Setting: Ontario, CA; Outpatient Psychiatry/Mental Health Clinic (Private Practice)
Position Type: Hybrid (Telehealth & In-Office)
Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST
Overview
Renewed Mental Health in Ontario, CA is seeking one (1) to two (2) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).
- Ideal candidates will have 2-3 years of experience
- May consider motivated New Graduates or those with at least one (1) year of experience may also be considered, depending on their nursing background, clinical training, and autonomy.

Role Details
This role involves both medication management and supportive psychotherapy for a diverse patient group, combining telemedicine and in-office services. You will play a key role in helping patients achieve optimal mental health through our holistic care approach.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations and provide ongoing treatment for mental health and psychiatric disorders across various age groups (ages 4 ).
- Implement treatment modalities including individual psychotherapy, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy, tailored to each patient's unique needs.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
Position Type: Hybrid (Telehealth & In Office Position)
- This hybrid position provides the flexibility to work both remotely through telehealth and in our office.
Schedule:
- Our PMHNP will start initially working 24 hours/week (3 days), transitioning to 32-40 hours as caseload increases. Our expectations are to have candidate working a minimum of 32-40 hours a week by 6-9 months of start date.
- Our PMHNP will have the flexibility to work 8 to 10-hour shifts, aligning with our business hours.
- To ensure effective patient care and foster team collaboration, we mandate a minimum of 2-3 days of in-office presence per week when at full-time hours, but asked to work 1-2 days in-office while caseload increases.
Supervision:
- Medical oversight provided through practice agreement with collaborating Physician/Psychiatrist and provided weekly-monthly meetings with Clinical Supervising PMHNP on staff
Experience:
- Preferred: 2-3 years as a PMHNP with a focus on pediatric, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.
- Will Consider: New graduates or candidates with at least one year of experience may be considered if they have demonstrated: 1. Strong clinical skills and 2. Robust understanding of psychiatric care during their training.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program; DNP preferred.
- Licensure: Unrestricted California RN, NP, and Furnishing licenses; ANCC PMHNP Board Certification.
- Skills: Proficiency in individual psychotherapy and psychotropic medication management.
- 103 NP preferred, but will also consider new graduates or individuals with 1-2 years of experience of licensed PMHNP experience
- Candidate must hold a valid degree from an accredited institution.
- Candidate must have a valid California DEA registration
- Candidate must have ANCC PMHNP Board Certification
- Proficient in providing individual psychotherapy
- Proficient in medication management utilizing psychotropic medications such as antidepressants, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, or adhd medications to treat a variety of psychiatric disorders for various ages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function independently in clinical decision-making.
- Must not have opted out of Medicare
- Proven experience in conducting psychotherapy.
Credentialing:
- For this position, we highly value candidates who have already been credentialed with Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial insurance companies, potentially through previous employment. While we will facilitate your credentialing through our company, having prior credentialing experience will significantly streamline the process and expedite your start date.
Compensation:
- Competitive; up to 120/hour, based on productivity and experience.
