The Food Services Manager is responsible for all administrative and clinical aspects of food services, ensuring a high level of customer service and patient satisfaction, excellent work culture and cost-effective management of all aspects of the service. Responsible for all food service-related activities; including patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all facility-related food service activities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the production, quality and distribution of all meals served. Ensures that kitchen and storerooms are kept in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
- Responsible for procurement and management of inventory of all food products, supplies and equipment. Maintains equipment in good working condition through service contracts.
- Maintains fiscal responsibility through efficient use of departmental budget. Performs cost analysis and cost comparisons to ensure cost effectiveness.
- Coordinates with Nutrition Manager to prepare and review menu cycles, address specific patient needs or requests, and addresses other nutrition related concerns.
- Staff supervision: Maintains ability to actively supervise and support departmental staff in day-to-day activities including: Regular follow-up, providing feedback, training and guidance as necessary to staff. Reviewing and processing time in the HR/Payroll systems in a timely manner ensuring compliance with company policy. Maintains department morale through positive staff communications, coaching and motivating staff performance. Maintains sufficient staffing levels in the department. In conjunction with Human Resources recruits, hires, trains, and orients all new hires.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and Joint Commission standards relating to quality and quantity of meals and in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
Education, Competencies and Credentials:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree from an accredited/certified culinary school preferred.
- Minimum of five years of leadership and management experience in food services required, 3 years in a healthcare setting is required.
- ServSafe Certified required. Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association strongly preferred.
Hours:
- M-F 40 hours per week, may have to work special events, some weekends and holidays.
