This is a full time position. The successful candidate will reside within daily commuting distance of Camp Ripley, MN. Extended travel for periods 30 days or longer may be required on occasion. The selected candidate will provide technical support and solutions to customers for the HMPT transmission. The candidate must apply an understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts of product and components in addition to general knowledge of related disciplines.
- Hands-on troubleshooting and repair in adverse environments is required.
- Will work closely with US Government, Vehicle OEM, and US Army personnel on site.
- Required to communicate regularly with management and engineering/logistics team in Muskegon and draw upon the knowledge and resources at RENK America.
- Must provide individual product incident and retrofit reports and weekly reports in the established format and in a timely manner.
- Must cultivate and maintain inter-organizational relationships and outside customer contacts.
- It is essential to be able to present and communicate with customer personnel at all rank and technical levels.
- Will provide assistance to troubleshoot hardware deficiencies found during product testing and support field testing as required.
- Provide input to Technical Publications (Repair and Parts manuals) and failure analysis reports.
- Must be able to provide theoritical and hands-on maintenance training to up to 12 customer personnel at a time following established training outlines.
- Associates Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or High School Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- 4-6 years minimum hands-on assembly / troubleshooting / mechanical / repair / testing experience in technical support of power train components.
- Must be able to pass a security background check and obtain a Controlled Access Card (CAC).
- Travel is required (domestic and foreign). Must be willing to travel by air.
- Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Vehicle access capability required. Must be able to meet the anthropometric requirements for combat vehicle ingress and egress.
- Must have excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively present technical training material and provide hands-on training to an audience of up to 12 people.
- Must be able to diplomatically communicate with customer and RENK America personnel and maintain composure, especially in stressful situations.
- Must maintain a professional appearance at all times, including personal, work space, and company provided equipment.
- Must support and comply with all customer and RENK America ethics standards at all times.
- Hands –on experience with HMPT Transmission assembly/test/maintenance/repair preferred.
- Hands –on experience with 1790 Engine assembly/test/maintenance/repair - secondary.
- Tracked vehicle knowledge and maintenance experience preferred.
