Description
U.A.W represented position responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems across various settings througout the facility.
Essential Functions
- Install and maintain piping systems for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, etc.. including pump and collectors.
- Cut threads, bend, file, de-burr, ream and install pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, etc.
- Work with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other types of metal piping, valves, traps, and vessels
- Use all types of pipefitters’ tools including taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hack saws, drills, benders, etc.
- Service and install sinks, toilets, showers, etc.
- This position will have other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be a journeyman pipe fitting or able to immediately qualify for a journeyman pipe fitter card.
- Must be able to read blueprints and be able to use in-process gauges.
- Must be able to work on roof, in tunnels and on high work platforms.
- Manlifts up to 40 FT above floor.
- Must be able to calibrate test cells: Fuel, Smoke Meters, and other test equipment.
- Must have mechanical skills
- Must have mathematical skills.
- Must be able to lift up to and including 50 lbs. and must be able to bend and lift.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
- Experience in a machning environment preferred
