Job Summary:
The Assistant Administrator will be responsible for assisting with overall administrative management and operation of the facility. Assistant Administrator shall assist with managing, directing, and coordinating all activities of the facility as they relate to the physical and psychological well-being of the resident.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Regularly meets with staff to discuss problems and possible solutions, and to discuss suggestions for improved operation
- Ensures attainment of objectives through the development, motivation and evaluation of staff
- Manages direct reports
- Determines the number and level of personnel needed to ensure adequate care to meet the needs of residents
- Specifies staff accountabilities and evaluates performance
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors the facility's medical activities through coordination with the leadership team, the medical and nursing staffs, and enforces policies to assure excellent health care services
- Maintains corporate compliance with applicable federal, state and local agency rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the areas of quality and safety of nursing home care services, reimbursement, claims submission, wage and hour regulations, waste handling, etc.
- Encourages the integration of the facility in the community by using effective communication and public relations skills
- Facilitates a quality new hire orientation
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring nursing staff and completing new hire paperwork
- Works with human resources to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees
- Acts as a back up for the Staff Coordinator role
- Assists Administrator in directing and evaluating overall operations, as well as, maintaining regulatory compliance
- Assists to complete State and Federal reports and investigations under the direction of the Administrator
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Ability to handle detailed, complex concepts and problems and to make rapid decisions regarding administrative issues
- Ability to establish strong and appropriate supervisor relationships
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet various demands of executive management
Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of healthcare administration normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in a health or business discipline from an accredited program
- Masters Degree in business or health administration beneficial
- A Current Wisconsin Nursing Home Administration licensure
- A minimum of three years of experience in health care management with an emphasis on nursing home management necessary to enhance and develop skills
