The Assistant Groundskeeper will work closely with the Head Groundskeeper to execute daily operations and seasonal projects.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Groundskeeper plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of safety, playability, and aesthetics for the baseball field and stadium landscape maintenance. The Assistant Groundskeeper will work closely with the Head Groundskeeper to execute daily operations and seasonal projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist in all aspects of grounds maintenance including mowing, infield skin maintenance, tarp pulls, mound/plate/bullpen, pre/post-game preparation and repair
- Support the management of turf maintenance, including aeration, fertilization, and soil testing
- Identify and address turf issues, such as diseases and wear patterns
- Assist in development of successful fertility and fungicide programs
- Manage landscape maintenance around the stadium
- Monitor and maintain the irrigation system, including programming, scheduling, and troubleshooting pumps, sprinklers, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices related to groundskeeping, including chemical applications and equipment usage
- Oversee seasonal groundskeeping staff as directed, providing training and support to ensure tasks are performed to a high standard
- Assist in coordinating and executing special events held at the stadium
- Fulfills the responsibilities of the Head Groundskeeper in the absence of the Head Groundskeeper
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Baseball field maintenance experience
- Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Knowledge of turfgrass management practices
- Ability to perform labor intensive tasks
- Staff management and time management skills
- Basic equipment troubleshooting skills
- Completion of a satisfactory background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs
- Ability to walk briskly or run as the position requires
