Pay range, based on experience and qualifications for each job is as follows:
Equipment Operator II - Utility - $16.94 - $22.81
Equipment Operator III - Utility - $17.79 - $23.95
Lead Technician - Utility - $20.59 - $27.72
Equipment Operator II or III - Utilities
Job Purpose and Objectives:
Perform activities related to the operations of Reno County water and sewer districts, equipment operator and other duties associated with Reno County Public Works.

Position Requirements:
- Minimum level high school graduate or have an equivalent general educational development certificate (GED).
- Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining any certification and licensing requirements relative to the Utility Crew Equipment Operator III position.
Certifications / Licenses: (EOII)
- Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License.
Certifications / Licenses:(EOIII)
- Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License.
- Possess and maintain Class I Water Operator Certificate as required by KDHE.
- Possess and maintain Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate as required by KDHE.
Lead Technician - Utilities
Job Purpose and Objectives:
This position is responsible for the operation of the Reno County water and sewer districts to KDHE and EPA standards to include all testing and monitoring as required on each Districts Kansas Water Pollution Control Permits. Performs skilled inspections and maintenance of the two (2) water districts and five (5) sewer districts.

Position Requirements
- Minimum level high school graduate or have an equivalent general educational development certificate (GED).
- Previous three (3) years’ experience working with water and sewer operations.
Certifications / Licenses:
- Possess and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License.
- Possess and maintain Class I Water Operator Certificate as required by KDHE.
- Possess and maintain Class I Wastewater Operator Certificate as required by KDHE.
