Job Title: Landscaping Construction Crew Lead
Classification: Seasonal - Full Time, Hourly

Overall Purpose:
The Construction Crew Lead will be responsible for the proper installation of landscaping by using hands, power tools, or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, digging, lifting, raking, problem solving, equipment operating, etc. This position will be responsible for leading crews of 2 or more people, so collaboration and good communication is vital. Leadership skills is needed to monitor and evaluate projects performed by his/her crew.
Duties:
- Ability to read landscape plans and follow landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, install hardscaping and plant.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, trenchers and loaders.
- Ability to set grades.
- Paver and hardscape installation skills.
- Installation of retaining walls.
- Knowledge of outdoor kitchen installation, including laying block, routing electrical, installing BBQs.
- Installation of irrigation systems from point of connection to completion. This includes all mainline, laterals, valves, PVBs, etc.
- Knowledge of installing trees, shrubs and perennials.
- Plant identification knowledge.
- Ability to lead a crew of 3-6 people.
- Knowledge of low voltage lighting installation.
- Installation of boulders and boulder steps.
- Installation of mulches such as DG, rock and bark.
- Installation of artificial turf.
- Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage.
- Understanding how to install and program an irrigation time clock.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, chop saws, vibra-plates, jumping jacks, wheelbarrows, turf brooms, generators, etc.
- Makes sure to teach the crew how to properly use all tools and machines properly and safely.
- Makes sure to teach the crew how to install landscaping per plan.
- Use company tablets and/or phone to properly clock in/clock out the crew.
- Assign tasks/jobs for landscaping installation to crew.
- Fill out and conduct employee reviews/evaluations at 90 days/yearly and making sure it is submitted to HR in a timely manner.
- Will monitor crews attendance, PTO requests, vacation requests and efficiently communicate them with HR/Payroll.
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Able to follow directions
- Must have a valid and clean NV drivers license
- Must have a strong work ethic and able to prioritize daily tasks
- An OSHA card is a plus, but not necessary.
