Position Overview:
As Hearing Instrument Specialist at Reno Hearing Center, you will be responsible for testing and managing hearing aid fittings and customer service for patients of all ages. You will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and collaborate with a dedicated team to provide exceptional care and improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing hearing challenges. Access to fitting Widex, Oticon, Signia, Phonak, Resound and Starkey hearing aids.
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Hearing Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' hearing, balance, and related disorders through audiometric tests, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and otoacoustic emissions.
Treatment Planning: Develop personalized hearing treatment plans, including the recommendation and fitting of hearing aids, cochlear implants, assistive listening devices, or other amplification options.
Hearing Aid Fittings: Select, fit, and program hearing aids, ensuring optimal comfort, functionality, and performance for each patient. Provide counseling on device use and maintenance. Access to fitting Widex, Oticon, Signia, Phonak, Resound and Starkey hearing aids. Need to have a strong knowledge for all the brands or a willingness to learn.
Tinnitus Management: Assess and develop strategies for tinnitus management, which may include sound therapy or counseling. (If qualified.)
Patient Counseling: Educate patients and their families on hearing health, hearing conservation, and communication strategies.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including assessment results, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with relevant regulations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with the patient care coordinator and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient care experience.
Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry advancements and technologies, attending relevant conferences and workshops, and obtaining necessary certifications.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology for Audiologists; state licensure is required.
- For Hearing Instrument Specialists, completion of an accredited program and state licensing are necessary.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Proficiency in audiological assessment equipment and hearing aid fitting software. (Or the ability to learn)
- Compassion and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
