Reno Solar is one of the largest and fastest-growing residential solar companies in NV. We are looking for hard-working and self-motivated team members who have a desire to upstart their careers and help homeowners go green, save money, and invest in increasing their home value.

As a lead Solar Installer, you will be our primary point of contact on the ground and integrally involved with the entire process of helping customers go solar.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage materials and tools : Ensure all required tools, equipment, and materials are properly prepped, organized, and loaded into the work truck before heading to job sites to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.

Verify installation readiness and completion : Confirm all aspects of the installation are completed to standards and ready for inspection, or clearly document and communicate any unfinished work to supervisors for follow-up

Qualifications

  • Honest and Responsible. In this position, we expect honest and responsible working practices. We need an individual who will show up to work consistently, perform quality work even when no one is watching, and follow documentation and follow-up procedures so that clients and staff can be confident that the work performed was completed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to interact with customers and coworkers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and key metrics
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance, as well as climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage, as well as in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Follow up with instructions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable with heights
  • Previous Solar Install Experience Required(at least 2 years). Experience with the installation of Solar PV systems, including flashings, racking, conduit, inverters, batteries, modules, etc., with a high level of quality.
  • Have the ability to read job documents and understand single-line drawings & data sheets.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, and stairs, and work from heights with an emphasis on safety and following company policies.
  • Have the ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, encouraging this attitude crew-wide.
  • Maintain a professional & courteous appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Be punctual and productive, consistently showing up for the day.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including interacting with customers and answering questions as needed.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written with Office Management, other crew members, and customers.
  • Have the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and delegate tasks or procedures to crew.
  • A plus would be NABCEP Certifications, OSHA 10 / 30, and other industry certifications.
  • Ability to work well with others, identifying where their comfort levels are and meeting them in the middle to make sure the group stays cohesive and functions as a team.
  • Ability to lead and provide a role model for safe work practices, quality workmanship, and respectful communication. Lead by Example.
  • Open to learning new things and hungry to not only learn but to proactively solve problems and satisfy clients' needs.
  • Cooperative and team-oriented spirit, looking for a successful solution with the entire team instead of needing to be right and leaving someone behind.
