Position Summary:
Under direct or indirect supervision, performs custodial services for RSIC facilities to provide a safe and sanitary environment for visitors and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides daily maintenance cleaning of RSIC facility buildings.
- Collects and removes all waste and trash on a daily basis.
- Vacuums, dusts, clean, and maintain, furniture, equipment, and fixtures on a daily basis.
- Washes walls, windows, mirrors, light fixtures, toilets, sinks, and urinals on a daily basis.
- Replenishes towels, tissues, and other rest room supplies and light bulbs on a daily basis or when needed.
- Sweeps, mops waxes, and buff floors and hallways.
- Assists and is responsible for custodial supplies and performs weekly inventory of supplies for department usage.
- Performs various winter maintenance activities as needed: e.g., snow plow, clearing of walks, and driveways, etc.
- Maintain safe working areas by utilizing signs and barriers when cleaning. Also, must follow confidentiality rules while working in or near offices.
- Operate vehicles and equipment as required. May be required to obtain and maintain a
- CDL license.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from High School or G.E.D
- No physical limitations relative to lifting, stooping, bending, walking, standing, climbing, etc.
- Able to independently perform assignments related to a specific work area.
- Basic knowledge of methods used in janitorial and custodian work .
- Understand and follow specific oral instructions.
- Perform manual laborer for extended periods of time.
- Get along with fellow employees.
- Communicate, read, write and understand English at a level necessary for efficient job performance.
- Duties require sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform assigned duties and sufficient strength and stamina to climb stairways and ladders, to walk and stand for extended periods of time and to maneuver equipment and tools. Must be able to pass a pre-hire physical examination relative to duties described within this position description.
- Must be willing to work with exposure to chemicals used in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds, and noxious fumes related to refuse collection.
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
- Indian preference applies.
PLEASE NOTE: Hiring preference will be given to qualified tribal members of Reno-Sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes. Must pass and comply with the HR Policy 164.905- PL101.630. The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony requires a designated candidate to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and confirmation of professional references and certifications.

Pay: $16.49 - $20.28 per hour
