What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at RENO-SPARKS INDIAN COLONY?
Position Summary:
This position provides administrative support for all aspects of human resources administration and requires daily interaction with employees, tribal and community members, insurance providers, applicants, and department heads for the purposes of implementing fair and consistent practices, policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director.
Duties:
- Maintains centralized personnel records and ensures strictest standards of confidentiality in all employee matters including archival storage and personnel files.
- Monitors the department’s budget, processes requisitions for equipment and supplies and ensures functional efficiencies of phone, computer, and copier.
- Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Rewrites job descriptions as necessary; monitors and sends reminders of employee performance evaluations on monthly bases and revises as necessary.
- Develops, recommends, and implements personnel polices and procedures; prepares and maintains change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness;
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
- Assists in processing Actions Items when needed
- Provides training and orientation on monthly bases
- Evaluates reposts, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed;
- Provide monthly statistical reports for the Human Resource Department.
- Inputs payroll on a daily, weekly bases.
- Provides prompt and courteous services at all times to applicants, employees, tribal and community members, vendors, contractors, and all others in need of services from the HR Department.
- Meets and greets all visitors to the Human Resources Department.
- Will backup and cross train with other staff within the Human Resource Department
- Other duties as assign.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree from and accredited college or university or a combination of education and experience including at least two (2) years of prior experience in Human Resources Office, law office, or similar setting with particular emphasis on employee relations, recruitment, and /or insurance programs.
- Advanced computer skills sufficient to complete comprehensive and often complex documents including agreements, offer letters, Excel spreadsheets, Publisher and tracking on integrated Payroll/HR systems.
- Ability to successfully communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age at time of hire with ability to maintain strictest levels of confidentiality in all matters related to Human Resources Administration.

Must pass and comply with the HR Policy 164.905- PL101.630. Pay: $26.80 - $32.96 per hour
