What are the responsibilities and job description for the Realty Specialist position at RENO-SPARKS INDIAN COLONY?
Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Planning and Community Development Department, incumbent will provide realty duties related to residential land assignments, residential land leases, deeds for permanent improvements on residential lots, fee to trust applications, and management of residential and commercial property records.
Duties:
- Work with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to process residential land lease applications.
- Assist community members with land assignment or residential land lease processes and applications.
- Monitor compliance with Ordinance 51, Land Assignment Ordinance and process land assignment and land lease applications.
- Work with the RSIC Housing Department to research current ownership status of residential lots.
- Develop and maintain database on current status of residential ownership, housing condition issues, master lease expiration status, and any other pertinent data.
- Monitor status of all land assignments and land leases for residential lots on the Colony.
- Assist the Director with easements required for transportation and utilities.
- Assist the Director with fee to trust applications.
- Provide assistance in processing and inspecting leases for Commercial Property Management and Economic Development.
- Prepare and potentially present Action Items for the Tribal Council.
- Prepare and submit notices for posting and publication of preliminary approval of applications.
- Perform other duties as directed or as may be required to meet Department goals and objectives.
Minimum qualifications:
- Associates degree in Business, or related field OR an equivalent combination of three years of education and experience, which would indicate the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described above. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Prefer realty experience in tribal government and familiarity with 25 CFR Part 151 and 25 CFR Part 162.
- Ability to operate standard equipment and computer application software.
- Eligible to participate in the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program and submit a current DMV record at time of hire.
PLEASE NOTE: hiring preference will be given to qualified members of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes. Reno-Sparks Indian Colony requires all selected candidates to successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and confirmation of professional references.
