What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Clerk/Cashier position at RENO-SPARKS INDIAN COLONY?
Position Summary: This position performs all duties associated with the retail operation of an assigned Smoke Shop, including customer service; register operations, inventory stocking or set-up, cleaning, and theft control.
Duties:
- Operates a cash register in order to complete customer transactions; collects cash, checks, charges, and coupons and makes change as needed; performs mandated procedures with checks and debit/credit cards.
- Provides consistent customer service to ensure shoppers are greeted, assisted, and able to complete transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Participates in inventory activity including unpacking boxes of merchandise, stocking shelves, replenishing as needed, and setting up signage.
- Records daily transactions in order to balance cash drawer at beginning and end of assigned shift.
- Maintains cleanliness of the shop which includes aisles, shelves, stock area, driveway, parking lot, windows, entrance area, and bathrooms.
- Monitors operations to reduce theft or other losses and notifies management of any incident or occurrence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age at time of hire.
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate at the time of hire or verify current enrollment in G.E.D. class.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PLEASE NOTE: Preference will be given to eligible applicants who are members of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $20.65 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
