Department: Human Services Job Status: Full-time; Exempt
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing human service programs, case management, referrals, counseling, and service plans for designated individuals and families in accordance with BIA human service policies and procedures.
Duties:
- Interview prospective clients to determine eligibility and participation guidelines;
- Identify and administer a service plan for each client based on intake assessment;
- Provide individual and/or family services, including referral to mental health, educational, financial, employment, or counseling programs;
- Coordinate foster care, adoption, or adult custodial services based on evaluation and assessment guidelines;
- Collaborate with RSIC services to align treatment plans for “at-risk” children, families, and victims of crime;
- Work jointly with tribal, local, state, and federal agencies, including the Family Support
Team, C.P.T. and M.D.T. entities;
- Seek technical assistance from B.I.A. as needed;
- Develop and maintain accurate and confidential client files, records, and documents in accordance with BIA file management systems;
- Review certification of assistance payments administered by federal and tribal programs;
- Attend meetings with clients, tribal departments, BIA representatives, and others as directed or deemed necessary; and
- Provide monthly and/or quarterly reports as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work,
- Human Services, Psychology, or related field and at least two (2) years of professional experience as a social worker, counselor, or treatment specialist;
- Nevada State license as Social Worker may substitute for prior professional experience;
- Eligibility for participation in the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program;
- Age 21 or older at the time of hire;
- Office skills, including but not limited to: e-mail, Microsoft Word, EXCEL, fax machine, and telephone;
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
PLEASE NOTE: Hiring preference will be given to qualified members of the Reno-sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes. Reno-Sparks Indian Colony requires a designated candidate to successfully complete a pre- employment criminal background check, drug screen, and confirmation of professional references and certifications. Must pass and comply with the HR Policy 164.905- PL101.630.
