Project Manager / Estimator
The dual role is a mix of the Project Manager (PM) andEstimator role. It is integral to the success of our branches whose work mixrequires skills of each role and not a primary role focus. The seasonality ofthe business might require heavier loads to one function, but time is generallysplit. This PM function is responsible for planning, executing, and closingprojects efficiently, meeting customer expectations while staying within budgetparameters and on schedule. The Estimator function is responsible for acquiringand capturing all project details from measurements and timelines to labor andmaterials to develop a comprehensive project proposal. Both accuracy and speedare essential for success in this role when preparing and presenting theproject scope. To be successful at this role, it will require workingcross-functionally, managing resources effectively, following identifiedprocesses, and implementing best practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Schedule and facilitate project meetings with customers, contractors, and vendors to align on expectations, timelines, and deliverables, following standard operating procedures
- Recruit and maintain contractor relationships that align with Renovia standards and project needs
- Collaborate with internal team during project review for cost and scope validation, as well as education of project efficiencies and discrepancies
- Monitor project financials, profit, loss, and expenditures, ensuring accurate documentation and approvals to align with cash flow schedule
- Allocate resources effectively and efficiently, monitoring utilization and adjusting plans as needed to optimize performance
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, milestones achieved, issues, schedules, and post-project evaluations
- Identify potential risks, proactively addressing issues and challenges to develop mitigation strategies and keep the project on track
- Share work responsibilities with estimators to create efficiency in the branch during seasonal fluctuations
- Monitor opportunities and scope of work in Salesforce to identify projects to complete
- Prepare estimates for assigned projects
- Use on-line resources, such as Google Earth, to analyze the overall project and plan for site visits to gather specific information / data
- Review pricing options to determine total costs of labor, materials, and equipment, comparing to historical data to ensure costs are appropriate
- Communicate and collaborate with internal team members and external vendors to align on details of project prior to presenting the proposal
- Identify opportunities where additional services can / should be offered and share with project stakeholders
- Follow established processes, including completing spreadsheets, scope of work, and virtual project take-offs
