Position Overview
The Research Engineer will take the lead on 1-2 high-impact R&D projects, ensuring their successful completion through technical expertise and innovative problem-solving. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience who are ready to independently manage projects while contributing to team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and execute technical aspects of 1-2 critical R&D projects, from initial concept to validation and deployment.
Design, prototype, and test systems, materials, or processes as required by project goals.
Document all project stages to ensure transparency and facilitate smooth handovers when necessary.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members or technicians working on assigned projects.
Share insights and findings from projects to contribute to broader R&D strategy discussions.
Required Skills
Proficient in data analysis tools; experience with Excel and Python is essential. Knowledge of platforms like JMP or R is a plus.
Familiarity with tools such as ImageJ, with an ability to develop automated image analysis workflows as needed.
Comfortable with basic mechanical and electrical tools for equipment maintenance and manual PV module assembly.
Strong capabilities in experimental design, execution, measurement, and data analysis.
Personal Traits
Highly self-motivated, with the ability to take ownership of projects without external prompting.
Excellent organizational and communication skills to effectively share results with stakeholders.
Qualifications
Experience : 3-7 years of hands-on R&D experience, with a proven ability to take projects from concept to implementation.
Direct experience in PV module manufacturing processes, including materials selection, assembly techniques, and quality control.
Familiarity with PV module testing, including reliability and performance evaluations.
Expertise in laser-based processing systems, such as laser ablation, scribing, or welding, and their integration into manufacturing workflows.
Education :
Required : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or a related field.
Preferred : Master’s degree or equivalent advanced coursework and hands-on experience in PV module development or laser-based systems.
