Job Description The Project Developer will be responsible for managing multiple solar development projects from site control until receiving a building permit and ensuring all projects are prepared for sale or construction. The role requires identifying and obtaining all necessary municipal, State, Federal permits/approvals by collaborating with internal and external partners.
This role requires consistent task management, keen problem-solving skills, and a desire to take initiative. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. On-site job position in Ithaca, NY. M-F 8:30am-5pm, may work outside of these hours, periodic evening travel is required to town board meetings and project site meetings.
Responsibilities
· Lead and manage all phases of solar project development, from site control to construction readiness.
· Ensure regulatory compliance by securing necessary permits and approvals, including SEQRA coordination, land use approvals and utility interconnection.
· Present project proposals to town boards and other stakeholders, addressing questions and concerns.
· Build and maintain relationships with property owners, government entities, and community stakeholders to foster project support.
· Negotiate and finalize contracts with private, commercial, and municipal stakeholders.
· Actively manage project budgets and timelines to deliver cost-effective solutions.
· Review and apply relevant federal, state, and local solar development regulations.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of work experience in the solar industry.
- Knowledge or desire to learn about the solar industry and project development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Salesforce management platform.
- Detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Basic engineering knowledge recommended but not required.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
