This position is fluent in all staff level positions and is an integral part of training, staff development and quality assurance. This position is also responsible for assisting the provider in back office duties, including but not limited to: escorting the patient in the waiting room to the examination room promptly; taking vital signs as per guidelines; maintaining examination room stock; documenting all patient communications; preparing lab specimens for processing; completing the necessary referral forms and obtaining authorizations for referrals and keeping records of same; scheduling patients for tests; placing and receiving phone calls in order of importance and filing into patient charts to become part of the permanent record; and administering treatments and medications per provider order in accordance with established policies.
In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring compliance to medical group standards for the delivery and quality of care within their assigned location(s). Promotes teamwork.
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meet the standards of quality as measured by the medical group.
This position will keep abreast of all standards to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies including third party reimbursement requirements.
This position is responsible to assist the manager in daily duties which include but are not limited to competency and quality assurance, etc.
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with other departments, entities, physicians, and outside agencies.
The incumbent uses professionalism and diplomacy with interacting with patients of all ages, their families, physicians, office staff and other healthcare providers in the accurate collecting of demographic, clinical and financial information in person or via telephone interviews.
